Cahyo Pamungkas is a Research Professor in Sociology at the Regional Research Center, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and a lecturer at the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia. In his academic and research work, Cahyo focuses on issues of ethnicity, the construction of social boundaries, and inter-group relations within the context of conflict, peace, and development. His research interests center on Papua and Melanesian studies, with an emphasis on minority rights, power dynamics, and the socio-political processes that shape inter-community relations. Through an interdisciplinary approach, he develops analyses that connect regional studies with issues of social justice and diversity in Eastern Indonesia and the Pacific region.
