Dr. Yosefina Anggraini

Profile and Research Interests

Yosefina Anggraini is an anthropologist who completed all her formal education in Anthropology at the University of Indonesia. She currently teaches as an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at the University of Indonesia. Her research interests and expertise focus on the lives of coastal communities, particularly fishing communities in Jakarta, with attention to the interconnections between structural poverty, ecological pressures, and spatial planning in shaping socio-ecological conditions. For over two decades, she has developed long-term research on urban and rural communities, development and poverty, and the power relations between communities and corporations in natural resource management. Since 2023, Yosefina has been involved as a researcher in the international project “Resilience and Adaptation to Sea Level Rise in Jakarta Bay: Sink or Swim (SOS) Together?”, a collaboration between the Asia Research Centre at the University of Indonesia, ISS Netherlands, and BU Turkey.
