Profile and Research Interests

Dr. Sri Murni is an anthropologist actively involved in academic activities and community service, focusing on cultural preservation, local community empowerment, and social issues amidst the pressures of modernization and development. Her academic background equips her with an interdisciplinary perspective that combines medical anthropology, psychiatric anthropology, psychological anthropology, folklore, ethnicity, border studies, anthropology of aging, anthropology of childhood, and oral traditions. She also focuses on public health issues, cultural identity negotiation, and the sustainability of indigenous and marginalized communities in Indonesia. Her work demonstrates a commitment to documenting, preserving, and critically analyzing cultural dynamics in an era of social transformation.
